Rope Access Technology Glossary

Term Description
Three Principles of Safety Assurance In SORAT, strict adherence to rope checks, operational checks, and pre-load testing.
NRT(No rope techniques) A technique for traversing without using ropes. Ensures safety, speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Pre-Load Testing One of the Three Principles of Safety Assurance. Verifies anchor strength at every setup.
Operational Check One of the Three Principles of Safety Assurance. Ensures proper functioning of equipment at every setup.
Anchor Point A solid and secure fixation point that supports the rope user窶冱 weight.
Self-Tyrolean The ultimate V-rig system.
Deviation A technique for adjusting rope positioning over a certain distance when a strong anchor point is unavailable.
Fundamental Principle of Two-Point Safety In SORAT, the absolute rule of maintaining at least two anchor points for safety.
V-rig A technique using two ropes, allowing free two-dimensional movement.
Re-belay A method of transferring load to a newly established anchor point.
